Developed for conveyor systems - Albany introduces the high performance door Rapid Protect 100
Albany Door Systems has developed a new high performance door especially for material handling systems. The Rapid Protect 100 ensures a safe and rapid material flow and separates different processes, storage facilities and conveyor belts from each other. The implementation of the door in a fully automated production process allows for noise absorption, energy savings and draft reduction.
The Rapid Protect 100 is available up to a maximum size of 3 x 3 meters with a total door area of 6 square meters. The door is driven by an electric drive unit. A contactor control or a frequency converter control is optional. The frequency converter control opens the door with a maximum speed of 1.8 meters per second and closes the door with 1.1 meters per second. A chain drive for the installation in confined spaces is available on request. In case of a power failure the door can be opened manually via the emergency hand crank.
The door is equipped with a 1.3 mm fabric door curtain available in the colors blue, red or grey. A vision panel is available on request. A special feature is the possibility to supply the door curtain with two different levels in case the transported good is smaller than the installed door and the area next to it needs to be partitioned off for the door to entirely close off this area. One side of the curtain is cut out and then stiffened by aluminum profiles. Additionally it is possible to extend the side frames of the door from the closing edge to the floor when the door is completely integrated into a system.
Due to its slim line construction made of galvanized steel the door is ideally suitable for the materials handling in production areas or in storage facilities. Potential-free contacts report the status of the door to the control of the conveyor belt: When the door is closed the conveyor belt stops automatically. When the door opens the conveyor belt carries on moving. The Rapid Protect 100 manages a high number of automated openings and closings while requiring little maintenance.
